Marketing and Persuasion (October-November 2017)
I. Mrs. Crumbley coordinates with 4th grade classes to help them develop a marketing plan for their penny drive fundraisers for the one room schoolhouse. A. Getting Started: Introduce the project (the WHAT, WHY, and HOW), brainstorm ideas to market their fundraiser, create and assign jobs and a plan of attack based on what they chose. B. Checking In: Check in with classes to see what progress has been made. Lend iPads and Flip Cameras to classes as needed. Support wherever needed. C. Putting it Together: Work with tech directors from each class to put together final digital product. D. Sharing: Air final products on WIZ TV, post online. |

B. Each student is assigned a county (or Baltimore City) in Maryland to represent—they must identify
1. Which region their county is in
2. Estimated county population
3. The name of the largest city/town in their county
4. One interesting geographical feature (examples: mountain, river, forest, waterfall) of their county
5. One fun fact about their county
C. Social studies teacher and Mrs. Crumbley facilitate reading/research about the counties to help students find what they need
D. Mrs. Crumbley helps each student create a PowerPoint slide about their county and compiles a class presentation
E. Class watches completed presentation to learn about all the whole state
